LEGENDS OF MAGICAL PRAGUE PUPPET SHOW: Traditional Czech puppeteer, Lenka Muchova, returns to Woodford Academy. This time with the fantastic stories of Golem, Dr. Faustus and other wonderful characters from the trully magical Prague, where every house and corner has its story. Lenka comes from an artistic family with puppet and movie tradition and travels extensively to her beloved Czech to visit other puppets. Czech puppetry has a long tradition acknowledged by its inclusion on the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage and I'm trilled to feature Lenka and her puppets in one of the Bohemian Rendezvous. If you are curious how does true Bohemian look like, ask Lenka in November, because she knows all the cool cats in Prague!
RADUGA TRIO: "Raduga”– meaning rainbow or joyous arch – is an eclectic, energetic and exciting take on a raw gypsy style. Original compositions and arrangements of melodies and songs from around the world on the clarinet, piano accordion, gitano guitar, acoustic bass, spoons and other percussion, flavoured with singing in Slavic and Roma languages. The trio plays without looping or digital devices – truly live performance with high audience participation, expressed in dance, clap and sing along! Raduga Trio performed and gave traditional European village dance workshops at the National Folk Festival, Sydney Folk Festival, Newcastle Fringe, Illawarra Folk Festival, Kangaroo Valley Folk Festival, Blue Mountains Music Festival, Cygnet Folk Festival, to name a few, and multiple multicultural festivals and top venues.When I saw this band perform back in 2023, I wanted to create a a special event with their joyful music, so here it is!
PETRA JUNGMANOVA: Czech artist, author and curator based in Canberra has prepared a multimedia exhibition and art installation connecting stories of transmutation and magical places inspired by the medieval cities of Alchemist where she lived. Petra has created Bohemian Rendezvous as an extension of her solo exhibitions and invites local creatives to create an unforgettable experiences in various cultural heritage building to revitalize them and create new connections through her visual storytelling.
