THE BOHEMIAN RENDEZVOUS

The Bohemian Rendezvous art events a love child of mine started with the big wish to create a safe space for various artists to shine and share their brilliance as well as open the doors wide to the general public to gather and relax in settings of outstanding beauty.

I deeply value the role of art and its ability to contribute to society by preventing isolation and decreasing social exclusion with creativity and beauty. This is the first of many rendezvous and I'm already planning the next one in an exciting location in Blue Mountains.

“A people's art is the genesis of their freedom.”

SILK ROAD

SILK ROAD exhibition, was hosted in the beautiful historical Cuppacumbalong Homestead where for thousands of years The First Nations People would meet, connect and celebrate. Human connections through art in a beautiful environment are the heart of The Bohemian Rendezvous and I’m so excited to bring you first of many curated exhibitions with focus on the social themes in our society. If you enjoy poetry, food and art that makes you stop and feel, this is for you.

This exhibition features the universal language of visual and performing arts, Sufi and bush poetry.

Multiculturalism represents the main theme of this group exhibition drawing from selected artists born in Australia and overseas.  The exhibition demonstrates the true sense of multiculturalism through painting, photography and printed media. Plus, there will be music composed specifically for the event by a renowned classical pianist Alexander Kokic-Schmidt. Also, there will be traditional didgeridoo music performed by Sivaram Narayanamoorthy, who regularly performs with the local Indigenous community as a part of their traditional activities. Puya Laghaee and Hadi Nazem performing their traditional music, ther Sufi poetry performed by Mohammed Ali a respected cultural and community identity and bush popetry performend by “Tooth” Jonathan Kendall.

By using the themes of connection, travel and belonging from East to West, this exhibition mirrors the impact of the original Silk Road, which connected people from various cultures. Themes that continue to celebrate the humanity within us.
